WHAT'S THE LATEST WITH KARINA
I just landed back in South Florida after a whirlwind week in Germany and Belgium celebrating my mom’s birthday. It was the kind of trip that makes you slow down, look around, and realize how surreal life can be. The honor system over there? What? Mind blown. Trust-based checkout counters at farm stands, a literal chicken farm where you grab fresh eggs and drop your euros in a box, and train rides with no turnstiles—my brain wasn’t ready.
While I was abroad, Claws of Chaos officially launched, and the messages I’ve received have been everything. Thank you to everyone who dove in headfirst and devoured the chaos. This series hit different when I wrote it, especially after being snowed in and stranded in New Orleans, so I’m extra grateful you’re loving the ride.
But because my brain doesn’t know how to chill, I also announced the title of my next work-in-progress—Bastard of the Alpha, book one in a gritty new series called The Damned Returned. It’s a fresh story set in the Mackenzie Grey universe, with new wolves, darker secrets, and a protagonist who refuses to play by anyone’s rules. If you think you’ve seen everything this world has to offer, think again.
With school back in session and my students (miraculously) getting a week off, I’m catching my breath and plotting what’s next. As always, expect twists, betrayals, and a few broken bones.
More soon. Always more.

Urban fantasy with grit and suspense.
Romantasy with heart and adventure.
Stories that hit hard—and readers love.
Fantasy Fiction Author Karina Espinosa writes stories where the women take no shit, the magic has consequences, and the heroes are loyal, protective, and absolutely lethal when it counts. Her books blend urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and romantasy—always centered around bold diverse characters, emotional stakes, and worlds you’ll want to escape into (but probably wouldn’t survive).
If you’re into:
-
Strong heroines who never wait to be rescued
-
Protective, ride-or-die love interests who’ll do anything but hold her back
-
Found family, supernatural drama, slow-burn romance, and snark for days
-
Stories with real heart and inclusive casts that reflect the world we live in
Then yeah—you’re home.
